Appraisal self-respect: Scale validation and construct implications

Abstract Despite the widely accepted recognition of notion self-respect and its importance for emotional well-being, it has received scant attention in psychological literature. We report on development validation a scale to measure trait (character-based) appraisal (ASR), conceptualised as disposition perceive or appraise oneself being respectworthy honourable person. tested factor structure, reliability, convergent, discriminant criterion validity ASR samples adult individuals (combined N = 1910 across samples). The resulting was found be essentially unidimensional showed good internal acceptable test-retest reliability.
